Before splurging on many items from the line, I decided to just buy one product and decided whether or not I thought it was worth my seal of approval. Obsessed with face masks lately, I decided to go for the matt pink tube proclaiming to rid my pores of dirt and leave my skin radiant and fresh.
The mask itself contains rosemary, yarrow and strawberry. Three ingredients are known to promote healthy clear skin. Taking a look at the other ingredients listed on the back of the tube (this was extremely difficult in the store because the shop people had covered nearly every products ingredients with annoying alarm stickers. I had to demand them to get me a new bottle before I purchased. Who else hates it when shops do this?) I feel like I need to explain what all the ingredients are.
Water (Aqua), Kaolin, Bentonite, Stearic Acid, Cetyl Alcohol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glyceryl Stearate, Titanium Dioxide (Cl77891), PEG-20 Stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Ceteareth-20, Tocopherol, Fragaria Chiloensis (Strawberry) Fruit Extract, Achillea Millefolium (Yarrow) Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Xanthan Gum, Salicylic Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance/Parfum, Methylparaben, Propylparabin, Benzyl Benzoate, Carmine (Cl 75470).
Nothing really interesting in the first lines of the ingredients. Different kinds of mineral clays, some ingredients used to thicken the cream, soften the surface of your skin or keep the moisture from escaping your skin. Titanium Dioxide however has been linked to severe allergic reactions. There are of course the strawberry, yarrow and rosemary extracts that make the skin really clear. What also sparked my interest is the salicylic acid. SA is often used in acne curing skin care. It goes deep down into your skin to combat sebum. There are also quite a bit of parabens in the mask. So if you want to stay away from those, this mask isn't for you.
Now let's discuss it's actual performance. The formula smells really nice and fruity, it spreads easily. You need to apply a thin layer on your face and neck and allow it dry and turn hard over the course of fifteen minutes. What you might find is that your skin starts to sting. This is said on the back of the tube and it is completely normal. However, I would recommend to stay away from this product if your skin is really sensitive.
I didn't really feel like my pores were really clean after using this mask. My skin was rather red after rinsing it off, and it felt a little tight and dry. But nothing a little bit of moisturizer can't fix. There was one thing. I had a huge bright red shiner just above my lip when I applied this mask and after rinsing it off I definitely noticed the bump had reduced in size.
Overall, I don't think I will repurchase this mask. It feels nice and it smells really fresh. But the effects it claims to have aren't lived up to.
