The Hangover Helper

It's the new year people! And while the parties were amazing last night, some of you probably overdid it on the glasses of champagne, vodka gummy bears and jello shots. I might not have a fix for the miserable feeling you might be having. But I do have some tips to at least make you look like someone with a heartbeat.

Drink lots of water - It was probably best you did this before you tucked in for the night, to avoid the inevitable throbbing pain in your skull. But if you didn't, no worries. Just drink plenty of glasses now as alcohol dehydrates the body, and you need to put the lost moisture back in. The dehydration is probably also the cause of that grayish tinge to your skin, so drinking lots of H2O will help restore that radiant complexion.

Clean your face. No really. Clean it. If you were smart you cleaned your face last night even though you were a little tipsy, but definitely do it again in the morning. Use a gentle cleanser, preferably lotion or cream to keep most of the necessary moisture in. Foaming things are a big no no at this time.

Use a hydrating skin mask. Like the La Roche Posay Hydreane Masque Intense or the Clarins Beauty Flash Balm. The latter also has a beautiful fresh scent that might make you feel better.

Those puffy bags under your eyes are easily fixed by a simple trick. Put two spoons in the freezer for about ten minutes. Then put them on your eyes and wait for them to return to room temperature. Puffy eyes be gone. Then hydrate hydrate hydrate, with for example Origins GinZing eye cream.

If you have somewhere to be that requires makeup use lightweight products that promise dewy effects. This will take away from the sallowness. Cream blush and highlighting certain parts of the face also tends to do the trick.

But really the most important thing is to make sure you stay hydrated. Just relax and take a day to reminisce the wonderful time you had last night. Leave that batch of Facebook photos to tag for later.

How was your New Years Eve?
