The Fuss Free Face

Easy, breezy days are those where nothing has to be done, but they can be done. You're stepping out of the house for a quick bite with a great friend (I had cheesecake and a gallon of English blend tea). You want to look a little put together but absolutely no pressure is to be detected. That is when I go for the fuss free face.

The fuss free face only requires four easy products. Products that are a great addition to any collection, and which I strongly recommend to everyone who prefers good quality makeup that will last ages.

First I start with a good swipe of Chanel Le Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Powder. This finely milled powders have a sheer translucent finish. Because it is slightly darker than my skin tone, it adds a perfect healthy tint to the face. It evens out the slightest bit of redness and makes for a good natural complexion.

Then a quick pinch of a lash curler and lashings of Chanel Le Volume de Chanel mascara and your lashes will be long, plump and you'll be looking doe-eyed in no time. The formula of the mascara actually holds the curl for a really long time, making it ideal for a no trouble makeup look.

To add a little color to my cheek I swipe on the slightest bit of Bourjois Cream Blush in the shade 01 Nude Velvet. The cream to powder formula works great with the Chanel powder base. I've raved about this little cream wonder a myriad of times, so I'll spare you the repetitive praise.

As a finishing touch, and a necessary evil in my case, I apply some Clarins Moisture Replenishing Lip Balm. This lip balm enriched with essential rose wax does a beautiful job at moisturizing my lips while adding a subtle shine. It's wonderful for long lasting moisture that keeps your pout plump.

Bold lipsticks. Matte bold colored lipsticks. My love for them is large. I can hardly ever decide what color I am going to sport for the day. So why not wear two? Makeup is so much fun, don't be afraid to experiment and think out of the box.

FOTD: Purple Haze

fulface

Sometimes I wake up in the morning and I just don't feel like my standard black eyeliner and lipstick combo. Like this morning. I wanted some color, to be more specific, purple. I have had MAC's Shadowy Lady in my possession since early December 2011 and have barely used it. What a shame! I adore this color, and it felt great working it into today's eyemakeup.

EOTD: Silver Smokes

silversmokesdetail

There are some sunday afternoons where I get so bored that I just grab my makeup brushes, stand in front of my makeup storage and grab some random items and play with them. I had somewhere to be last sunday so I decided to go a little further than my basic eye makeup. I came up with this silver and navy smokey eye. I quite like the way it turned out.

I don't really have the hang of taking pictures of my makeup, but I'm improving. It feels quite unnatural.

Whatever I do, even the smallest smile causes my stupid front teeth to show. But yeah, here's the full face shot. Because it's mandatory, not because I enjoy taking it.

I used NYX jumbo eyepencil in Milk, on top of that I applied The Body Shop's futuristic silver over my entire moving lid. To make the silver a little more blue toned I lightly dusted some blue and turquoise colored shadows from my elf palette over it. And then I finished off with L'Oreal's Infallible eyeshadow in Midnight Blue in a v-shape and my crease. I also traced a little of that dark blue shadow on my lower lashline. Finished off with some dark blue liner and some black kohl pencil on my waterline and tightline. And last but definitely not least, a generous coating of Bourjois' Volumizer mascara and you're done!

Quite simple, but a nice cool toned smokey eye that's perfect for a date or a night out on the town with the girls.

FOTD: Pink Nouveau and 60's liner

thicklinerpinklips

My very first face of the day, I always feel awkward posting pictures of my face. Or taking pictures of my face, for that instance. But I was so satisfied with this particular look that I felt the need to blog it. It's been my go to look for a while now, with the lipstick color changing every once in a while from pink to red to mauve. Sometimes even a nude color, or no color. But it's usually bright.

I adore bright lipstick. It's so simple, but makes such a difference. The thick liner changes the shape of my eyes ever so slightly, giving them a more cat shaped appearance.

For my skin I used a foundation that has been my favorite for quite some time now. I love the effect and the color it gives my skin. It's the only foundation that doesn't change my skin at all. It doesn't make me break out nor does it make me look dry or oily. It's just perfect. And it should. FOR THAT PRICE!!

This one really does it, right? Oh how I hate staring straight into a camera. But I really needed to show a proper swatch of the lipstick on my actual lips. You can't really see the eyeliner in this one, but it needed to be shown. So...

Oh yeah. I CHANGED MY HAIR COLOR! Not sure if you know. But it's much darker now. I'm really happy with it. I love how it makes me look slightly paler. Looks good with my dark eyes, no?
