The Monday Mani #9

During the colder months I gravitate towards darker shades. Plums, taupes and as shown above navy shades. The polish I have on my nails right now is Essie Midnight Cami. It reminds me of the second ever bottle of OPI nail polish I bought, back when spending more than three euros on a thing like polish seemed crazy to me. Oh the times. That particular OPI shade was titled Russian Navy and it didn't leave my nails for weeks on end.

The Monday Mani #8

This week was busy and stressful and filled with change. I took the plunge and had my favorite hair stylist chop about five inches off my mane. It was needed as my ends had been frizzy and terrible because of the way I treated them. My hair is now shoulder length, and I going to grow it out a little longer so that it reaches just on top of my collar bone. It just looks a lot healthier, and it was a good change. 

The color I applied for this week is a new addition to the ever growing collection. ANNY Friends Forever is a gorgeous mysterious gray purple color. It goes on quite nicely and has great shine without the use of any top coat. Two coats makes it perfect and I will get great wear out of it.

The Monday Mani #6

Essie Penny Talk

I went crazy when this color surfaced in Essie's collection last year. I simply had to have it, but after the shocking realisation that the Essie Mirror Metallics collection was not coming to the Netherlands, I had to be resourceful. I ended up tracking down a seller on eBay and I ordered it from there. And I have loved the shade ever since.

Pretty and feminine, but with enough edge to accessorize my more masculine silhouettes I often wear. This gorgeous rose gold polish will always be among my favorites.

The Monday Mani #5

This week color of choice is Essie's beautiful After School Boy Blazer. Such a dark navy color that it borders on black. Included in the fall 2013 collection, I fell in love with it upon first look. I also managed to score it when it was on special offer, 30% off baby!

We've just closed off the first week of creating our second magazine. I had to interview a young skydiver who's been involved in the sport since a very early age. It was really cool getting an insight in what drives a person to seek that kind of rush. Even if I am the biggest chicken on earth, I kind of want to jump out of a plane now.

Mom and dad's 26th wedding anniversary, me and my brother took them out for dinner 7. All black, even my coffee cup agrees 8. Milk bubble tea. Mango and strawberry boba!

Right now I am working on my article. Almost ready to hand it in and start considering the layout. Working on these products is so excited. I love holding the magazine in my hand when it rolls out of the printer.

The Monday Mani #4

This week's color is Essie's Recessionista. Featured in last year's autumn collection, making it perfect for a fall inspired manicure. This is a nice deep purple that dries into an incredibly shiny finish. No topcoat necessary (of course you can add one if you want your manicure to last longer). It's a gorgeous vampy color that looks great on paler skins.

Considering I've been using the Mani Monday as a recap of my week, I decided to add a little something into the mix. I'm nixing the instagram collages every couple of weeks, and I'm adding the instagram pictures I took last week into Mani Monday.

Our first magazine is at the printer's right now. I'll be holding it in my hand this week, so unreal. Since we finished our mandatory magazine we now get to create our very first original. It's a magazine focusing on the theme 'adrenaline'. We'll be doing features on people that are involved in extreme sports, a 'crazy stories' feature on a kleptomaniac and so many more awesome things. I am so looking forward to working with my editorial team on this brand new original magazine that we're building from scratch.
